The Bernette B44 FUNLOCK is a great choice if you want to sew faster, cleaner, and more professionally. A wide selection of stitches allows you to effortlessly match the finish to the fabric type and desired effect – from strong structural seams to aesthetic, decorative hems.

● 4-thread stitch – a reinforced overlock stitch, ideal for sewing and serging at the same time. Ensures seam durability in everyday wear, sportswear, and knit projects.
● 3-thread stitch – a wide and narrow overlock stitch, also used for decorative techniques. Great for neatly finishing edges, sewing lightweight fabrics, and aesthetically securing seam allowances.
● 2-thread stitch – rolled or flat, narrow or wide. Perfect for thin fabrics when you want a delicate, less "bulky" finish and save thread.
● rolled edge stitch – 2 or 3-thread hems with rolled edge (hemstitch) – a quick way to elegantly finish ruffles, shawls, scarves, curtains and light decorative fabrics.

4-3-2 thread overlock function

The Bernette B44 FUNLOCK overlock machine uses a 4-3-2 thread stitch and hemstitch. This allows you to effortlessly create both strong seams joining garments and delicate edge finishes. It's an ideal choice for sewing knitted garments (T-shirts, sweatshirts, leggings), children's clothing, and even household projects like curtains, bedding, and decorative textiles.

Built-in rolled hem (hemstitch)

Quickly roll the hem without changing the presser foot or needle plate. This is a huge time-saver when you frequently sew thin fabrics. The rolled hem allows for a light, elegant hem – perfect for ruffles, sleeves, wraps, scarves, tulle, and window treatments.

Snap-on foot attachment

It allows for quick and easy presser foot changes without tools. Press the button and the presser foot drops onto the fabric. Then, place the new presser foot under the foot and lower the presser foot lever. The presser foot automatically "clicks" into place, and the presser foot is ready for use. This is convenient when switching between different sewing techniques or frequently changing stitch types.

Adjusting the width of overlock stitches

The Bernette 48 FUNLOCK overlock allows you to adjust the width from 3 to 7 mm. This allows you to tailor the overlock to the thickness of the material and the desired visual effect: a narrower stitch works well on delicate fabrics, while a wider stitch provides solid edge protection on thicker materials and knits.

Adjustable 7-position presser foot pressure

Smooth presser foot pressure adjustment makes it easy to sew both thin and thick materials. Proper pressure facilitates even fabric guidance, helps prevent shifting layers, and improves stitch quality on difficult materials—from slippery to elastic.

Lower looper threaders

The Bernette B44 FUNLOCK overlock machine is very easy to use. Thanks to the mechanical lower looper threading system, operation is quick and easy. This is a great convenience, especially for those new to overlocking – less time preparing the machine, more time sewing.

Quick threading

Open thread guides are color-coded along the entire thread path. Threading is quick and easy, and the clear markings help avoid mistakes. This is a practical solution when you frequently change thread colors for a project or work with different types of fabric.

Full force of needle insertion

The electronically controlled speed controller guarantees constant and full needle penetration regardless of sewing speed. This allows the machine to sew reliably even through thicker layers of fabric, and the stitch remains even during both slow, precise sewing and high-speed sewing.

"Differential Transport" setting

Eliminates stretching and wrinkling . Thanks to it, you can sew knits, jersey, jersey or elastic materials without wavy edges. Differential feed also allows for special effects (e.g., controlled gathering) depending on the project. It is manually adjusted to the selected stitch and sewing technique.

High sewing speed

The Bernette B44 FUNLOCK overlock machine offers speed and reliability. It boasts a speed of 1,300 stitches per minute and two speed ranges to choose from. For more precise work, a lower speed is recommended. High performance is particularly effective for long seams: sewing garments in batches, finishing curtains, bedding, or large textile projects.

Releasing the thread tension

Easily thread and unthread with the presser foot raised. This practical feature speeds up machine setup, simplifies adjustments, and helps maintain the correct thread tension for even and neat stitches.

Large space under the foot

Very useful when sewing thick, heavy fabrics (4.5 mm). The larger opening makes it easier to work on multi-layered areas, such as the side seams of sweatshirts, the seams of sweatshirts, thicker hems, and the elements of denim and coat fabrics.

Safety function

The machine will not start if the front cover is open. This increases operational safety and protects the mechanism from accidental activation during threading, cleaning, or maintenance.

The casing includes a thread cutter. There's no need to use scissors, which streamlines work and helps keep your workspace tidy, especially when starting and finishing seams frequently.

Built-in two-thread stitch converter

This allows you to sew with a 2-thread stitch. This is a great option for delicate fabrics and thin knits when you want a subtle finish, fewer threads in the stitch, and a more "light" appearance of the overcast.

LED lighting
