● 4-thread stitch – a reinforced overlock stitch, ideal for simultaneous seaming and overcasting . It provides a very durable connection of elements, making it ideal for sewing everyday and sportswear (e.g. sweatshirts, tracksuits, leggings), as well as for materials requiring strong edge protection.

● 3-thread stitch – a wide and narrow overlock stitch, also used for decorative techniques. Perfect for aesthetically finishing the edges of fabrics and knits, it reduces fraying and improves the appearance from the inside. The narrow version works well on delicate materials, and the wide version on thicker fabrics and where a stronger edge grip is desired.

● 3-thread stitch – rolled or flat, narrow or wide. It allows for a light, elegant finish without excessive edge bulk. Ideal for sewing wraps, ruffles, scarves, fine knits, and decorative edges (also using contrasting threads).

● 2-thread stitch – rolled or flat, narrow or wide. A great choice when you want to save thread and create a very subtle finish. Recommended for thin fabrics, lining, chiffon, or viscose – wherever a delicate effect and minimal seam bulk are important.

Snap-on foot attachment

It allows for easy presser foot changes. Press a button and the presser foot drops onto the fabric. Then, place the new one under the foot and lower the presser foot lever. An automatic "snap" will occur, and the presser foot is ready for use. This solution significantly reduces machine setup time and simplifies switching between different sewing techniques, especially for multi-step projects.

Adjusting stitch parameters

Adjust the stitch length, cutting width, and presser foot pressure. Choose optimal settings for various materials and sewing techniques. The maximum stitch length is 4.0 mm and width is 7.0 mm. These adjustments allow you to precisely adjust the overlocker to suit your material: from thin, "runaway" fabrics to thick knits. Adjusting the cutting width also allows you to control how much material is cut off, helping to achieve clean, aesthetic edges.

Free arm

The Redstar 4.0S overlocker has a free arm for sewing pant legs, sleeves, and other narrow elements. This is very convenient when finishing "round" hems – it's easier to guide the fabric, maintain even stitching, and avoid accidentally catching the second layer.

Quick threading

Open thread guides are color-coded The entire thread path. Threading is quick and easy. Color-coded markings minimize the risk of errors, which will be especially appreciated by those new to overlocking and those who frequently change thread colors for a specific project.

LED lighting

The Redstar 4.0 S overlocker uses LED lighting, which is easy on the eyes and produces a natural light color. Good illumination of the work area makes it easier to check edges, stitches, and material guidance – especially with dark fabrics and precise finishes.

Full force of needle insertion

The electronically controlled speed regulator guarantees constant and full needle insertion force regardless of the sewing speed.

This is a practical advantage when sewing multi-layered fabrics, elastic knits and thicker materials – the stitch remains even and the machine works stably even during slower, controlled sewing.

"Differential Transport" setting

It eliminates stretching and wrinkling of the fabric. Thanks to it, we can sew various types of fabrics without worrying about wrinkling.  Manually adjusts to the selected stitch and sewing technique. The feed is adjustable from 0.7 to 2.0 mm. This feature is especially useful for knit fabrics (e.g., jersey, sweatshirt), slippery materials, and thin fabrics. It also allows for deliberate gathering. material in decorative projects if you want to achieve a ruffle or slight puff effect.

Adjustable presser foot pressure

Smooth presser foot pressure adjustment allows for easy sewing of both thin and thick materials. In practice, this means better fabric guidance, reduced risk of layer shifting, and more consistent stitching – both on delicate fabrics and on thicker knits, or on multiple layers around seams.

High sewing speed: up to 1300 stitches/min

The machine offers impressive speed, significantly saving time on long seams (sides of sweatshirts, legs) and in batches. At the same time, if necessary, the speed can be reduced to precisely finish corners and details.

Releasing the thread tension

Easily thread and unthread with the presser foot raised. This is convenient when changing threads, adjusting settings, or test stitching – it will help you get your machine ready for work faster and help you avoid unnecessary breaks.

Large space under the foot

Very useful when sewing thick, heavy fabrics (5.0 mm). It facilitates passage through the joints of multiple layers (e.g., around side seams, cuffs, hems), resulting in smoother work and even stitching.

Safety function

The machine will not start if the front cover is open. This increases operational safety and protects the mechanism from accidental tampering during operation.

Built-in rolled hem

Quick rolled finishing without changing the presser foot or needle plate. This is a huge time-saver for projects requiring delicate edges – ideal for thin fabrics, ruffles, scarves, decorative elements, and aesthetically pleasing edge finishing that requires a light and professional look.
