Selecting the sewing speed

In the Bernette ACADEMY, you can use the three-position switch to choose the speed you want to work at, from 1100 to 650 stitches per minute . A lower speed is ideal for learning to sew, precise curves, sewing zippers and working with delicate fabrics. Higher speeds allow you to quickly complete long seams, home projects (e.g., curtains, bedding), and serial stitching, saving time without sacrificing quality.

Adjusting stitch parameters

The Bernette ACADEMY features smooth stitch length adjustments up to 4 mm and width adjustments up to 6 mm. This allows you to easily match the stitch to the type of fabric and desired effect: a shorter stitch for precise sewing and reinforcements, a longer one for basting or quick stitching, and a width adjustment for decorative zigzags, hemming, or appliqués. This means greater control over your project and a professional finish.

Double needle sewing

We can use a double needle with various gauges, from 2.5 to 6.0 mm, to create a straight, two-needle stitch. This is an ideal method for aesthetically finishing hems on T-shirts, sweatshirts, and knits, as well as for decorative, parallel stitching. A double needle allows for an effect similar to coverstitch, improving the garment's appearance and strengthening the seam.

Snap-on foot attachment

It allows for easy presser foot changes. Press a button, and the presser foot drops onto the fabric. Then, place the new presser foot under the foot and lower the presser foot lever. The presser foot automatically "clicks" and is ready for use. This allows for convenient changes in sewing techniques (e.g., from straight stitching to zipper sewing or buttonhole sewing), saving time, and allowing for smoother project work without unnecessary interruptions.

Convenient thread cutter

Back sewing
