The machine features 30 stitch programs, including overlock stitches, elastic stitches, and blind stitches , which allow you to hem or hem fabric invisibly from the right side (threads are invisible). This is an ideal solution for aesthetically pleasing finishes on everyday clothing, dresses, skirts, and curtains. Overlock stitches allow you to simultaneously sew and protect the edge from fraying, while elastic stitches are perfect for knits, jersey, and other fabrics.

We also have a set of two super-elastic stitches for sewing Lycra. The Bernette Crafter features smooth stitch length adjustments up to 4 mm and width adjustments up to 6 mm. Width adjustment facilitates zigzag finishing, stretch stitching, and decorative stitching on visible design elements, among other things.

Double needle sewing

We can use a double needle with various gauges, from 2.5 to 6.0 mm, to achieve a straight, two-needle stitch. This is a great solution for neatly hemming knits (an effect similar to coverstitch), creating decorative stitching, and reinforcing seams. A double needle also allows for even, symmetrical lines on collars, cuffs, and pockets.

Free arm

The narrow (free) arm allows you to easily mend narrow garments, such as sleeves, pant legs, or children's clothing. It also facilitates circumferential sewing, such as cuffs, pant legs, hats, cowls, or small accessories. Less fabric tugging means even stitches and greater control.

Adjustable presser foot pressure

The Bernette sewing machine features manually adjustable presser foot pressure. This is crucial when working with a wide variety of fabrics: reduce the pressure for delicate fabrics to prevent puckering, and increase it for thicker layers to ensure the fabric moves smoothly. Pressure adjustment also helps when sewing knits, where it's important to limit fabric stretch during guiding.

Large space under the foot

The large space under the presser foot allows for sewing thicker materials. Sewing multiple layers is no problem. This is very convenient. It also makes sewing leather or denim easier. This is a practical feature for shortening jeans, as well as for quilting and joining multiple layers.

Snap-on foot attachment

It allows for easy presser foot changes. Press the button and the presser foot drops onto the fabric. Then, place the new presser foot under the foot and lower the presser foot lever. The presser foot automatically "clicks" and is ready for use. Quick presser foot changes streamline work on projects requiring multiple steps (e.g., sewing a zipper, then topstitching and finishing the edge).

Convenient thread cutter

The casing includes a convenient thread cutter. There's no need to use scissors. This small detail really speeds up work, helps keep your workspace tidy, and makes completing subsequent sewing steps easier, especially when frequently changing stitches.

Back sewing

The machine has a reverse sewing function. At the beginning and end of a stitch, press the "reverse sewing" button for a few seconds and tie the stitch, securing it against unraveling. This is essential for items subject to stress, such as pockets or trouser seams. Locking makes the seams more durable and more resistant to unraveling.
